Purchase a Bible you can understand. If you are new to reading your Bible, find a paraphrase version A paraphrase is written in everyday language. Paraphrases are not suited for serious Bible study. Look for one that has a “concordance” in the back and study notes to help your understanding As you become comfortable in reading the Bible, begin reading your paraphrase Bible with one the popular translations—New International Version (NIV), or New American Standard Bible (NASB). Lastly, buy a Bible dictionary to look up words you don’t understand. This will help you UNDERSTAND the Bible. |
